A Jenni Weekend

I dropped Bryan off at the airport on Friday evening and immediately prepared for a week of total me-time. Then five seconds later I realized I was lonely.

I miss him but I'm using my single girl time wisely. Getting in lots of couch-sitting, watching indulgent TV. I spent Saturday at a race where I didn't race so I chatted with friends, started a new book, and read one whole magazine. And I got a new bathing suit! Saturday night I joined some paddling friends for champagne tasting (oohlala) and then a beer.

That evening I met two wonderful people who are moving to San Francisco. We chatted non-stop about the city, good food, and living in Hawaii. And then they gave me a ride home and invited me to a BBQ at their house later this week. Amazing and such a treat. At one point one of them said to me, "I wish we would have met you sooner." Which may just be the nicest thing anyone can say to me.

On Sunday I putted around the house - CLEANING! And then joined my brother for a surf outing. We both caught two waves and never stood up. But I still maintain we were surfing. This was my first outing with my own board and I was just so proud to strap it to my car and drive to the beach! I felt like I was so in the Hawaii life.

All in all, one of the most well-rounded weekends I've had in a long time!
