The Internet is My Friend

Bryan likes to make fun of me because I am constantly on my laptop at home. I'll admit it's a bad habit I need to break. But I think it's also a source of my partial sanity. Being an ocean away from almost everyone I love can make me feel a bit lonely and out of touch. So I've adapted the very odd habit of reading strangers' blogs. I think it makes me feel more in touch with the rest of the world. Also, it's an excellent activity during work hours when I just don't feel like working.

Some people post links to their favorite blogs in a sidebar on their page. But I don't really know how to do that and I'm not sure I'm ready to truly illustrate how addicted I am. So I'll list them here for you. If you're into reading about stangers' lives, you may want to bookmark this post. Or contact me any time, sometimes I find new ones.

Rosalie is a rockstar and I check in on her daily. I actually know her and she is the daughter of our friends in San Francisco. When you read this, hope for the best and send all your prayers and best wishes to them.

Jenny is the first stranger's blog I started reading. I came along it 100% innocently googling something or another and I credit her with my blog habit.

Erin I found through Jenny and is super dry and an excellent writer, I think.

Random and Odd is just that. No clue how I stumbled upon it but it used to be updated constantly so it was a good at-work distraction.

Not Martha is 100% excellent although often way too crafty for me. But such a resource for useful information!

Dooce is probably the most popular blog that I've come across. She's like a professional and truly delightful.

There are others but these are my daily must-checks. If you have one of your own you'd like me to promote or link to, please let me know. And go ahead and link mine if you wish. I don't have any secrets.

well since you have time on the pc, you should learn how to add those links in! the blogger help is decent, check this:
http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=41427&query=edit%20links&topic=&type=f

now that says for the old template styles and there's a link to the new way to do it.. i'm not sure which one you'd use, but hey, it's worth a shot!
