Okay, so this is the biggie. And I'll keep it short.
This past weekend our canoe club WON OUR FIRST LONG DISTANCE RACE. This has never been done in the history of our club. It is a very, very big deal. And we were psyched.
To be clear, I was not in the winning boat. We entered three boats - #1 won, I was in #3. I am so, so, so happy for the girls in the winning boat.
We hope that this newly blessed and undefeated canoe keeps all its good mojo and wins again this weekend in Kona.

Hurray for the Waikiki Beach Boys Canoe Club, and the Kahuna who must have pleased the paddling gods at the canoe blessing. Good luck in Kona - we are cheering you on from San Diego.
Congratulations!! What a victory. As much fun as I'm sure paddling is, just for the sake of paddling, it's always good to win!
