So my coworker just sent me a message with a link saying "check this out, I think this is something you'd be in to." It's a site about shoelaces. Shoelaces. Why would he ever think I'm into shoelaces?
But I read the site.
And I learned I tie a Granny Bow. For my entire life, I have been tying granny bows instead of proper bows. That's why my gift wrapping is never as nice as it could be, why my shoes might come untied, why the perky ribbon I would never wear in my hair wouldn't sit straight anyway. A Granny Bow.
If you're worried about your bows or want to learn everything about shoelaces, this is the site for you.

I looked at the shoestring thing and I still can't tell what I do! I am right handed but start with a left loop first...and it has always looked wonky!
btw, those blue shoes are awesome!
I'm totally a granny knotter too! I'll bet our Moms got together and taught us how to tie our shoes...might explain why we both have crooked bows on our shoes!
Ok - guess it is my fault since I taught you to tie your shoes and I only know granny knots. At least we double knotted them so the laces didn't come undone. Now you'll have to teach me to tie "proper" hair and gift bows.
I am pretty sure I tie granny knots too... but I can't for the life of me figure out the colored laces work on the website. It's a bit out of my league this morning ;)
ok i just spent 10 minutes on that page. i'm left over right, right loop, but then put the left infront the loop.. bah.. even changing just the start seems really odd.. but my laces do love coming undone! the test is on.
i'd like to follow up with, yes it's annoying to tie them differently, but dammit!!! they're staying tied.. arrgg.. alright, back to 1st grade i go.
ps. i've been telling everyone about that site.
