Last night we and 10 of our friends went to the UH football game against Oregon State. An awesome time. I hadn't been to a college game since my senior year at CU oh so very long ago. And there's no doubting it, there's something special about college footbal. The UH team is in the top 25 this year which is pretty impressive and Oregon State had already upset USC earlier in the season so it was an exciting game with all sorts of crazy plays... more quarterback sacks than I have ever seen, a kickoff return for a touchdown, a purposely sacrificed safety... In the end, UH couldn't get the extra points to win but lost by only 3 in a very high scoring game that kept us on the edge of our seats. You can look for them in the Aloha Bowl on Christmas Eve.Oh, and it felt really good to buy those 12 tickets (we have 10 friends!!!).
This guys is the Warriors mascot. He wears a skirt made of ti leaves. He's pretty scary but have you ever seen a mascot that isn't in a stuffed outfit? I suppose to make a cartoon costume Warrior might be culturally insulting.
