WWBD?

Tonight over dinner Bryan was sharing a story about how he had to deal with a difficult person and he thought to himself "What would Barack do in this situation?"

I love it.

How great would it be if we all asked "what would Barack do?"

In other completely un-related news, we got our engagement photos back today. I had been SO nervous to take these pictures and then SO anxious to receive them. I was worried I wouldn't love them as much I hoped to. Sadly, that's the case. I think they're mostly nice photos. Some are very nice. None are very stellar. A few are just not good.

So I sit here now with an upset stomach about something I wanted SO bad that I now feel let down.

I am going to give myself a few days distance from them and hope that when I look at them again with an open mind I will find I love them.

Tuesday's Grace

1. Warm sunshine that brings back springtime memories of San Francisco when I'd soak up the first warm day and think "tomorrow I'll wear a skirt to work! This weekend I'll picnic in the park! Maybe even brunch at an outside table!"
2. The library. The public library is one of my new favorite things even though it isn't new at all. Free books and friendly service. I can't believe we're so spoiled! As I told my co-workers, "it's like Amazon but FREE!"
3. Macy's coupons
4. Pandora.com, check it out if you haven't already
5. Coke. Ahh, sweet nectar!

Grace

1. Yummy mozzarella and tomato sandwich
2. Engagement pictures are ready!
3. $10 yoga class this evening, so very much needed
4. Being right
5. Being inspired to tour the island

With regard to #1, it occurs to me that each of my Grace lists have included at least one reference to food. Which is pretty funny. I mean, I know I'm picky about food. And I certainly enjoy good food. But I never would have thought I was emotionally influenced by food. However, when I sit in front of the computer and think of the small things that have brought me a smile or a feeling of grace, I sure seem to think about food a lot!

Hello Sunshine

Today I spent three very indulgent hours at the beach soaking up the sun, watching the waves, and generally not doing a single productive thing.

It. felt. so. good.

We've had crazy cold weather lately and on-and-off rain for close to two weeks. I know I sound like a spoiled brat in Hawaii but, man, that weather got me down. Those three hours at the beach today some how recharged my battery and put my brain back in order.

Yay sun! Yay Hawaii!

Grace

1. A slight sunburn from three hours at the beach
2. A birthday present for Bryan
3. Red wallets
4. Craftiness
5. Girl Scout cookies bought at Safeway (Thin Mints!)
