An Update

So sorry, I got lazy about blogging. The problem is that I have a little too much time on my hands and I've been obsessively reading wedding blogs and then I just get blog overloaded and feel that I don't have anything worthwhile to contribute.

I do have an idea or two about what to feature here on this Hawaii Adventure blog but for now let's just stick to a catch-up update...

Bryan and I are conducting our own little potsticker competition. We've sampled many gyozas at our favorite Ramen place and just last night re-visited our favorite Chinese place. Verdict? Ramen place, hands down! So, um, moral of this story? We eat out too much.

We are also both loving the Olympics. I just can't get enough of them and am totally digging all the human interest stories NBC throws in. The French-Italian swim love triangle? Nice!

As we watched the Opening Ceremony on Friday night we both remembered that we'd watched the 2004 Opening Ceremony. That got us thinking to how many future Olympics we'll watch together. We joked that we'll be 80, sitting on our future couch and having to yell to each other as we watch the gymnasts because we'll be near-deaf. I'll probably have told him a hundred times over that Greg Louganis went to my high school, and he'll have tried to one-up me a hundred times over with some random baseball guy who went to his high school.

I have been paddling practically non-stop. We're now into the distance portion of the season which is a ton more fun but also a ton more work. Two more months and it's done. I suspect that this may be my final paddling season. But I really am enjoying it for the most part.

Bryan has been playing basketball with three different groups on as many different nights. He's also been out partying like he's in college. So he's definitely been having fun.

In the uniquely-Hawaii aspects of our lives, we went to the beach yesterday for the first time in months! So wonderful to sit in the sand and soak up the sun. It really is therapeutic. Unfortunately, I was not paying attention when I applied my sunscreen and I know have a very abstract design of red and white across the front of me. Here's hoping it fades quickly!
