We've been trying to write this blog as one joint voice. However, while much of what we've done and accomplished we have certainly done together, we each have our own take on the events and a few unique experiences. So here's a little tale from Jenni...
Saturday morning I had the most terrible surprise. I was up at 7am in the morning for my canoe practice and was half awake in the bathroom when I encountered our first visible ROACH! Dear God, it was awful! Huge and brown and shiny. It must have been almost 2"x4" and slowly meandered around the corner of the wall. Blech. I screamed and Bryan came to grab it with a kleenex which is pretty funny because the thing was almost as big as me and probably could have put up a good fight. By the time Bryan got there it had disappeared. Now I'm convinced that it's hiding in every corner, under everything left of the floor. Terrible! It left me on edge all day - jumping at everything that moved and every shadow. Everyone tells me they come with the territory here and that I'm certain to see more but I sure hope that particular visitor never shows his ugly little face around here again!
We had hoped for a nice relaxing weekend before we start our jobs on Monday - DREAD - but somehow life took over and we spent a lot of time running errands. Our beach adventure has yet to happen! But we did take a nice hike to celebrate Bryan's birthdy and saw whales frolicking not far off the coast. And then we had a very nice Hawaiian dinner at Roy's. Happy Birthday Bryan!!
That's all for now. Wish us well as we're thrown back into the working world at 8am tomorrow.
Oh, and apologies all around for the "flip flop" comment. I know they're slippahs - we got them down the street at the 7-11 for $2.50. Nice ones. "Surfah" kind.
Aloha,
Jenni
