I've mentioned this before, the longer we live here, the more normalized our lives here become. It's a combination of two things - we have more we have to do, and our 'Hawaii' activities are normal. The Hawaii-ness of our lives are progressively sprinkled around us, rather than in big chunks over the weekends.
Lately we have...
... decided to go out to dinner and ended up in Waikik eating amazingly yummy sushi overlooking palm trees
...taken up hula again
...sat in the sun with friends
...gone hiking
...used the word 'puka' without even realizing it
...witnessed a rainbow as we pay our monthly bills
...eaten a lot of papayas
...loaded my surfboard in the car
...gone to the Punahou carnival
...eaten malasadas
Next up? Get another one of those drinks.

Yum - malasadas from the Punahou carnival - I'll have one of those!
I love hearing this. Sounds like you're 'home'. :)
