S-C-R-A-T-C-H

Today, early in the morning, affected by parking garage frustration and a weird 12-hour headache, I totally ran our car against a cement wall.

It sucks big time.

I suck.

It was an accident, of course. And I honestly am not sure how it really happened. And it's not that bad. But it's not good at all.

We have a crappy car but we had hoped that when we left Hawaii we would be able to sell it for about what we paid for it. Not anymore. I'm not sure who would buy it with big claw-like scratch marks all along the rear passenger side of the car.

Ugh. Makes me feel sick.

When I'm not beating myself up about it, I blame Honolulu. Stupid city! With your stupid parking garages everywhere that are too narrow to drive safely in!!

I know how you feel - I had a headache and forgot to set the brake and put the car in gear - it rolled out the garage and smashed (more than a scratch!) into the brick wall at the edge of the driveway. I felt pretty stupid. But you know what - it really isn't a big deal in the big picture - at least you have a car and a job to drive it to.

It must have been the day of car accidents as I got rear ended going to work yesterday! There I was sitting nicely at a stoplight sipping my latte, enjoying the song on the radio, and a car ran into me... boo! No huge damage just some scratches on my bumper. Still not a fun way to start the morning :( I feel your car pain...

Sara, I am so sorry to hear that! It's bad enough that I did this to myself but if SOMEONE ELSE had done it? I would be furious!

Yea - even a crappy car booboo is a bummer - it's not so much the car but that you did it - oh well maybe you can hone your bondo skills - a little elbow grease and a spray can and it will be as good as.... well not new.. as good as it was...almost

Sorry you're sad, but don't be too hard on yourself, --it happens!

Thanks for the support, guys. After checking it out in detail, I've decided the damage isn't so bad. Bryan doesn't really agree so I've bet him that once I have it washed and rub the paint out you probably won't notice it from 30 feet away.

Ted, I would totally agree with you except that parking in Honolulu is a NIGHTMARE. Everyone drives and all of the parking garages are super narrow and stupid. Shockingly, Honolulu could learn a lot from SF in the area of parking.
