Happy New Year to you all! Hope you had a nice celebration and rang in the new year with gusto! Our New Year celebration was all too brief but a very good time. We gathered with good friends for drinks, games and a surprise sibling toe-licking (no, I will not elaborate).
We realized once again that Hawaii has made us soft and we cannot handle the frigid tempertures of California. When the thermostat drops below 60 we don't know what to do! I say that all in fun. We were happy to fly back to warm humid air last night but there is something very special about crisp winter air.
I am particularly excited for 2007. I don't think I've ever entered a new year feeling as settled as I do now. I have lots of mini-resolutions but no desire to change anything too big. I'm so happy to still be on a life adventure, so happy to be with Bryan, and really pleased with myself. So bring it on 2007, I think we can take it.
As what I like to consider a sign of 2007's good faith to us, I saw a rainbow on my way to work today. A particularly strong and colorful one. They're a dime a dozen around here but have you ever seen a rainbow on the second day of the new year? I'm taking it as a personal omen.
Hope you each had your own special omen.... a light snowfall, a friendly MUNI driver, a hot Starbucks barista.... you take your pick.
