Vog

So there's this thing in Hawaii called vog. It's an air condition, a pollution of sorts, that's caused by the gases and emissions from the volcano. Of course, I'm paraphrasing this all. I really don't know what causes it exactly but I know it has to do with the volcano and that's why they call it vog.

I've heard about vog for years and I always sort of rolled my eyes about it. I mean, I understand fog and even smog. But come on, vog?

Over the last few months I have certainly come to know vog. It's coming in strong. We are miles and miles, not to mention islands and islands away from the volcano on the Big Island but it's producing something so strong that it's been surrounding Honolulu on and off for months now. And today it's worse than it ever has been. Which truly puts a damper on my weekend beach plans.
